Share real places and real experience

Recommend somewhere you have genuinely experienced or can describe accurately. Give people useful context rather than copying promotional text.

• Do not create fake places, ratings, engagement, or identities.
• Disclose meaningful commercial relationships or gifted experiences.
• Do not impersonate a person, business, or organisation.

Treat people with respect

Critique a place or experience without attacking the people behind it. Disagreement is allowed; targeted abuse is not.

• No harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual exploitation, or encouragement of violence.
• Do not reveal private personal information or coordinate harassment.
• Do not sexualise minors or publish content that puts them at risk.

Keep discovery useful

Spoto is for place discovery, not repetitive promotion or manipulation.

• No spam, scams, misleading links, mass-posted advertising, or engagement bait.
• Post media that clearly relates to the location.
• Use categories, tags, and map pins accurately.

Do not make dangerous activity discoverable

Do not use Spoto to facilitate crime, exploitation, trafficking, dangerous challenges, or access to restricted locations.

• Never encourage trespassing or bypassing safety barriers.
• Do not sell regulated goods or arrange illegal transactions.
• Do not post instructions that create a credible risk of harm.

Only share media you can use

You must own your photos and videos or have permission to publish them. Respect the privacy and dignity of identifiable people.

• Avoid recognisable faces when consent is unclear, especially children.
• Do not upload intimate, stolen, or secretly recorded material.
• Credit creators where permission requires it.

How we enforce these standards

We consider context, severity, intent, previous behaviour, and the risk of harm. We may reduce visibility, remove content, issue a warning, restrict features, suspend an account, or preserve information when legally required.

We will explain material moderation decisions when reasonably possible. If you believe we made a mistake, use the appeal form.

• Reports are reviewed without favouring the reporter or creator.
• Repeated or severe violations can lead to permanent removal.
• Emergency situations should be reported to local emergency services first.
