What cookies and device storage are

Cookies are small values a website asks a browser to save. Local and session storage can save similar information on one device. This policy covers all of these technologies when Spoto uses them.

Essential cookies

Essential cookies support features you request or protect Spoto and its users. They do not require optional personalization consent.

• spoto session cookies: maintain account access and protect authentication requests; they expire or rotate, with signed-in sessions lasting up to 30 days.
• spoto two-factor cookies: complete a two-factor sign-in or remember a trusted device; challenge cookies last about 10 minutes and trusted-device cookies up to 30 days.
• spoto-cookie-preferences: records whether you selected essential-only or allowed personalization; it lasts up to 180 days.
• Cloudflare Turnstile may use strictly necessary security data or tokens on protected signup, posting, report, and appeal forms to distinguish people from automated abuse.

Requested settings and temporary storage

Spoto stores settings when you ask the interface to remember them. Temporary browser-session data reduces repeated requests and disappears when the browser clears the session.

• spoto-account-preferences: theme, motion, control size, discovery, notification, and profile-privacy choices; retained until you reset or clear them.
• spoto:location-requested: remembers within the current tab whether the location prompt was already shown.
• spoto-map-places entries: temporarily cache map results in the current browser session to make repeat map views faster.
• spoto:analytics entries: prevent the same visit or spot view from being counted repeatedly in one browser tab; they contain no user or advertising identifier.
• spoto:plus-interest:v1: remembers that you submitted the optional Plus preference test so the form does not ask you again in the same browser.

Optional homepage personalization

If you select Allow personalization, the spoto-country-history cookie stores short destination codes already shown on the homepage. This helps provide a more varied set on later visits.

• Provider: Spoto.
• Duration: up to 30 days.
• Data: destination codes only, without your name, email, or precise device location.
• Selecting Essential only deletes this cookie and prevents it from being recreated.

Third-party services

Map tiles, place search, media delivery, and abuse prevention can cause your browser to connect to a service provider. Those providers may receive technical request data such as an IP address and browser details. Spoto does not permit these connections to use your activity for third-party advertising.

Analytics and advertising

Spoto measures a small set of first-party product events to understand whether search, maps, spots, saves, posts, follows, and the Plus preview are useful. A Plus interest response is stored only after you choose both answers and submit the form. This measurement does not set analytics cookies, create an anonymous visitor profile, store search text or coordinates, or send activity to an advertising network. Signed-in activity may be associated with an account to count returning users. Global Privacy Control and browser Do Not Track signals disable passive analytics events.

Changing your choice

Use the controls at the top of this page at any time. You can also clear Spoto data in your browser settings. Clearing all site cookies will sign you out; the Clear device data button on this page keeps your authentication session and removes Spoto preferences, destination history, and temporary map data.
